Over the weekend I had the pleasure of speaking at an Apologetics event in Kentucky. The conference featured several talented speakers addressing a variety of issues challenging Christians today, including Religious Pluralism (Dr. Dale Tuggy), Privatization (Dr. Jerry Wierwille), Moral Critiques (Kenny Willenburg), Apologetics in the Postmodern world (Sean Finnegan), and Evangelism (John Truitt).
I was asked to introduce the conference to Postmodernism and to provide a historical overview of Western civilization’s journey from premodernity to postmodernity. In this presentation I also spent some time exploring a few ways in which the postmodern worldview has influenced both society and the Church, and I ultimately attempted to present a Christian solution for the post-postmodern world. Given the historical nature of the discussion, I thought it might be interesting to some Buried Deep readers.
Sean Finnegan has uploaded the other very worth-while presentations at Restitutio here (thanks to Sean for getting these uploaded). I highly encourage you to check out these presentations if you are interested in Apologetics, or in understanding the Christian worldview and how it interacts with modern social and philosophical paradigms.
